The C of C

The Professional Review involves demonstration of, or discussion of, your position on typical ethical challenges. Which part of ICE CoC is most important to you personally?

Do you understand why having such a C of C is important?

What are your thoughts on item 2 of the C of C, which states that all members shall only undertake work that they are competent to do? How would you deal with a situation in which you were not comfortable with a task you've been given because you don't feel you have sufficient experience or knowledge to complete it?

Could either discuss with manager not to do the work at this time and undertake studies/mentoring/shadowing etc to learn, or take on the task with a solid mentor in place.

Ethical conduct generally

Ethical behaviour in a profession can be taken as something as simple as not taking a bribe to do something that is fundamentally wrong, but this probably happens to very few of us. How do you see ethics being applied to your role? Think about the 7 attributes you've been asked to achieve, these being: understanding engineering principles, management/leadership, commercial ability, H, S & W, working sustainably, having good comms skills and personal commitment? (Ask one or two but not all)
